A New Boy

So the newest update on my life is that I am dating a new guy. And guess what? He is Persian!!! It has been a year and a half since I dated a Persian guy and about 2 or so years since I was in a relationship with one. I had pretty much given up on the idea of having a Persian boyfriend since they are, for the most part, close-minded assholes. But this one seems great! He is TALL, SO CUTE, and really real. He was born here but lived in Iran for a long LONG time so he even refers to himself as a F.O.B. but really his english is pretty good. And he has made my farsi so much better already.

One negative thing about him is that he isn't really into school or anything and I am very education-oriented you could say. School always comes first for me. But I am trying not to even think about my future with him and how our names would look together on a wedding invitation. I just want to have fun and if it goes anywhere serious, i'll address the problem then. He asked me out officially yesterday, and it was SO cute because he got so awkward. We've pretty much been kicking it for 2 weeks straight though. Oh yeah, and he is an awesome kisser! He always pays for me wherever we go, which I appreciate but don't find necessary really. It just shows he's a gentleman though and has his cultural values. Also, he is really really protective and I have to admit, it turns me on.

I guess we shall see where this goes...I am just glad to have something else on my mind besides school and the other stressors of life. The beginning of a relationship and what I like to call the "honeymoon phase" are some of the best moments you create with someone and I am just so excited!! YAY :)

Bleh

Bleh. my life is just bleh. But the good thing is, I went shopping over this winter break. And I have been so SO desperate to shop. When you haven't shopped for 6 months AND your a female, you will know what it feels like. Also, another good thing is that I still have to go dress shopping for an arab girlfriends engagement party. It'll be a fabulous, fancy cocktail dress, I'm sure. Funny how her and all her friends got engaged/married all of a sudden. It was a domino effect, literally. And us Persian girls are still living it up at the parties, the clubs, the lounges, the sushi restaurants...

Our new years eve party was fantastic with a smidgen of Paris Hilton/Britney Spears slutyness; a.k.a. some vagina's were revealed on the dance floor that nobody wanted to see, that I didn't even get to see because I was running around playing hostess/drunk girl having fun mingling and dancing (not with the vagina's, thank God).

Ah, but here are my newest finds in no particular order:

This is a wife-beater grey ombre tank with a zebra graphic image on it.

A basic black, long-sleeved shirt that I didn't have.

A black halter tank with star and circle shaped studs at the top. I figured black and studs were very NOW so I bought it.

A floral tank with buttons in the front. Very springish, can't wait to wear it!

A red top that looks very different when wearing it, I thought it was a cute spin on a basic red top.

A leopard print pullover hoodie.

A navy-blue, knitted, cropped wrap with gold buttons (very sailor-type)

A sundress with leaf and flower patterns and a ruffled bottom, also perfect for spring. The color palette also makes it appropriate for fall and winter as well.

A brown ombre over-sized cardigan.

My long awaited boyfriend blazer!

An oversized, black and white top top with netting at the very top, along with studs and beads in the middle.

A long, kimono-type cardigan.

A blue, beaded and studs silk halter tank with the backside.

Missing Out on Life

Just so anyone out there wants to know what I believe I am missing:

My younger sister went out with my two brothers. And my youngest brother has made these new friends, they are christian Iranians--I don't even know who they are or anything. But for some reason I'm expecting my sister to come home and tell me she fell in love or something...THATS how much I think I'm missing out on life.

And facebook is the devil, all my friends posting their statuses about their fantabulous weekends! It is complete torture!!

O.k. I am done venting.

Mini's

I cannot wait till school is finished. My last final is this Tuesday, but it's also my hardest final and I will not accept anything other than an A! Lets pray I am not hoping for too much here though.

As soon as my winter break begins, I am going to begin my lil mini projects I have set up for myself that aren't really projects.
Here are my list of things to do:

-CLEAN MY ROOM; it is currently a pig stye
-buy presents for my darlings (since I am kind of broke, I have to come up with creative, thoughtful gifts and I am looking forward to putting my recessionista qualities to good use)
-buy a bookshelf for my room
-redecorate entire bathroom
-print pictures to FINALLY fill up the frames in my room
-hang a couple of things here and there
-buy a statement art piece

As you can see, all of it mostly has to do with my room. That's because when I redecorated it in the summer, I never quite finished, and I plan on finishing this winter break.

Also, my long-time, persian best friend is coming to town for new years eve weekend and my brother is hosting a party on NYE. I just hope everyone comes, because it will be so much fun! When she comes to town, I cannot wait to go shopping with her. She lives in San Francisco and compared to here, things there are way more expensive!! And I have just been DYING to go shopping!

Well anyways, I am sure I will be updating my blog much more during the winter break and I am hoping it will become a habit so that I continue it throughout the semester. OH, and also, I am in the process of finding a job currently. I have a lead with Duchess Marden, which is a natural skin care line that is based off of rose water. I've researched them fairly well and they seem very legit. I can't wait to start using their products; I am all about being eco-friendly and natural, especially with products you must swallow or put on the skin!!

Toodles for now fellow readers (which I am assuming is about 0 now, hehe)

update

actually, i lied. some things have been happening to me. so before i came to austin, on thursday i went to dinner with my ex-boyfriend. yes, THE ex-boyfriend. we had chinese and i didnt finish most my food. mainly because i as busy eating the fortune cookies. I LOVE fortune cookies and the place had a whole lot in a basket in the area where you pour your own drinks so i could take as much as i want and i did. while catching up and talking, he mentioned how he had given up drinking and smoking (by which i thought he meant ciggz and weed, but apparently he just meant weed). so as we were talking, he said how much he was craving a ciggerette and so i was like ''here, take a fortune cookie instead.'' he took it, cracked it open, and read the fortune inside and kind of fell silent. i asked him what it said and he handed it to me. it said ''love is like a war; easy to start and hard to end.'' TALK ABOUT AWKWARD MOMENT!

eid mobarak!

o.k. so nothing particularly interesting has happened thus far in my life. however, right now im poolisde at a hotel im staying at with my cousin in austin. i saw the premier of ''i hope they serve beer in hell.'' it was pretty funny, my cousin predicts it will be the next ''american pie'' but i guess we shall see about that. austin has been very relaxing, mostly just lazing around and drinking wine and champagne. i havent even gone to 6th street yet but im pretty sure we will tonight. as you can tell i didn't keep all my fasts this year but to those who did, eidetoon mobarak!
